The Meridian ClubDemo club, invented data

Tuesday · 16:50

The club your members actually turn up to.

Court booking, dining, guests, the directory and committee governance — built for a membership where the youngest member is nine and the oldest is ninety.

In build Development is complete and the platform is in QA.

17:00

The office closes. The booking doesn’t.

Courts used to be booked by ringing the office between nine and five, which is when Anushka is at work. She books court 2 from her phone in a meeting break.

A doubles four, one short.

Open play posts the gap to members at their level, so nobody has to telephone four people. A fourth walks in before the first serve.

One notice, and exactly the right people.

The office sends the racquets section one notice. Juniors’ copies go to their guardians. Members marked Late are never sent anything, whatever the segment says.

If the system sends Francis a birthday greeting, the club cancels the contract.

Mark’s guest shows a pass on her phone. The gate scans it once, and a second scan is refused.

Ramukaka doesn’t have the app.

He walks in and asks, as he has since 1974. The office can see his table is on, and tells him at the door. Nothing he does needs a phone.

The club your members actually turn up to.

That was the whole Tuesday evening, end to end: a booking, a fourth, a notice, a guest, a dinner service, a bridge table and a quorum, at a club dressed in your colours.

In build Development is complete and the platform is in QA. The launch club is a heritage club in Goa with more than 2,500 members.

What is actually going wrong

Every club we have spoken to recognises at least three of these.

01

The secretary is the system

One person knows who has paid, which court is free on Sunday, and why that member’s guest pass was refused in March. It works until they take leave.

02

The noticeboard does not reach anyone

Announcements go on a board that members see once a fortnight, or into a group chat that half the membership has muted. Attendance at events suffers and nobody knows why.

03

Booking is a phone call

Courts, coaching slots and function rooms are booked by calling the office during office hours. Members who work cannot book, so they stop trying.

04

New members know nobody

Someone joins, pays a substantial fee, turns up twice and never comes back, because there was no way to find another player at their level on a Tuesday evening.

Two packages

Two packages. Core is everything a committee needs to run the club properly. Premium adds the member engagement that gets people through the gate.

Core

Everything a committee needs to run the club

The foundation: membership records and the roll, sign-in without passwords, the member directory, dues position, court and facility booking, events with RSVP, announcements, the admin console, your branding throughout, data-protection compliance and messaging over the channel members already read.

Premium

Adds what gets members through the gate

Everything in Core, plus guest passes and visitor management, committee governance and AGM voting, live facility availability, open-play partner matching, ladders and tournaments, engagement reporting on who has stopped coming, dining and the concierge, and deeper white-labelling.

Annual pricing bands exist internally but are not published until payments are live and a club can actually be invoiced. Publishing a price for something that cannot yet be bought is worse than publishing nothing.

Founding clubs

We are taking on a small number of founding clubs. Founding clubs help shape what gets built, pay less than the eventual price for the first two years, and get the founder building it rather than an account manager. In exchange we need a committee that will actually engage and tell us when something is wrong.
